Coffee? No thanks |

New junior art director Melissa Lissone (24) has a rather serious problem: she actually cannot sit still. Hardly had she finished the Sint Lucas academy in Boxtel, department of Multimedia Design, or she had plunged into her next study, Media & Entertainment Management in Breda. She wasn’t very happy about that one, so she left immediately for the University of Lincoln to get her bachelor in Graphic Design.
En passant The Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce awarded her the designation Highly Commended. Afterwards she worked at a small agency in Nijmegen (‘too much dtp, too little creativity’) and then decided to go back to studying again: Hallo academy, where she met her creative partner Seema.
In between and at the same time she lived on Aruba, stood on her skateboard, played guitar, piano and harmonica, started running, climbing and surfing and watched movies, movies and more movies.
Also she had so much time to spare that she shot some 30,000 pictures over the last five years. Which translates to a mean of 0,9 photos per hour. 24 hours a day, 52 weeks a year.
Do these eyes close at all?

No one, we repeat, absolutely no one has ever seen new junior copywriter Seema Sharma (24) without her Moleskine. Rumor has it she could only be separated from her notebook with the help of an anaesthetist and a surgeon. This black book is filled, page after page, with insights and ideas. Seema trained – like her Berlin sister – at Hallo academy.
And she has already a past that’s jam-full with education: Journalism in Tilburg (family, roots), Creative Communication at InHolland, WattWorx, research trainee at John Doe.
You know what was full as well? Her shoe closet was. So recently she threw out 30 pairs. Now all she’s got left are 50 pairs.
Makes us wonder, by the way: has anyone counted how many feet Seema has?

Passed: Eus |
Wednesday 20 august 2008 |
A new face at Woedend! So let’s talk about food. Because Eus, visual and audio designer, is a great Thai and Indonesian cook, the type that makes you eat your chop sticks as well. Even better, before he was allowed to leave home he had to take a culinary exam. (What a beautiful tradition in the Anthonijsz residence: each descendant who planned to leave home, had to prepare a series of dishes under the watchful eye of mama Anthonijsz.
Only when this was done to her complete satisfaction, you could leave.) So whenever he doesn’t feel like playing games or watching movies on his 56-inch screen, overtimers at Woedend! look forward to Eus cooking up some of his Khao Pad Namprik Pao Sai Kai stuff.
Eus’ remaining ingredients: pixel obsession, Flash fixation, car experience (Renault, Mitsubishi), E-norm, Inpact, Lost Boys.

Sure you should be in the account department? |
Tuesday 8 juli 2008 |
You live in Rotterdam and you worked at Datagold, later ‘great’. You started as an account assistant and 3 years later you left as an account manager. ‘No House’ Wine was this beautiful new brand that you introduced for a charity.
So far, so good. An online account talent showing great promise. Nice and orderly. But then. You sang in a cheesy cover band which we may really-positively-definitely-absolutely not mention, which was called Phonus. You’ve got a bass guitar that feels slightly abandoned by you. Which you can’t help because you visit concerts, festivals and theatres so frequently, spotting new talents. And then you roam the streets of Florence, Havana or Reykjavik whenever you can. Where you shoot pretty impressive stuff with your photo camera.
Er... say, Laura Klaassen, you sure you should be in the account department?
